April 17, 1947 — March 1, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Lois Godleski, who departed this world peacefully on March 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on April 17, 1947, Lois was a beacon of kindness and compassion, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Lois was the cherished daughter of the late Rev. Louis Orzech and Stashia Orzech, whose love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. She was also predeceased by her brother, whose memory she held dear throughout her life. In 1968, Lois graduated from Kutztown State Teachers College, where she cultivated her lifelong love for learning and teaching. Her career was marked by a deep commitment to education and community service, culminating in her dedicated work at the Glen Rock Library, where she retired after 15 years of service. There, Lois was more than just a librarian; she was a guide, a mentor, and a friend to all who entered the library's doors, always ready with a warm smile and a book recommendation tailored to every visitor. Lois shared 56 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, William Godleski. Their union was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and resilience, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and cherished memories. Although Lois's passing leaves a profound void, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her love for her family and her unwavering kindness will be remembered and cherished. Lois's legacy is one of compassion and service, values she championed throughout her life. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Lois's memory. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Cedar Crest Resident Care Fund, an organization close to Lois's heart. As we say goodbye to our dear Lois, we find solace in the knowledge that her legacy of love and kindness will endure, reminding us all of the beauty of a life devoted to others. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will remain a guiding light to all whose lives she so profoundly touched.
