With heavy hearts yet filled with gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Lloyd O'Neal Williams, a cherished son, brother, father, and friend to many, who departed this world on June 22, 2026, at the age of 63. Lloyd's journey began in Charlottesville, Virginia where he was born on July 31, 1963, to his devoted mother, Bernice T. Williams. He lived most of his life in Washington, DC in his much loved apartment. Lloyd's life was marked by a steadfast commitment to his community and a remarkable ability to touch the lives of everyone he encountered. Educated in the Washington, DC Public Schools, Lloyd's early years laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning and service. His career was distinguished by his role as a Washington, DC Chief, a position in which he exemplified leadership and dedication. He was also a celebrated Washington, DC Basketball Champion, his passion for the sport evident both on and off the court. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Lloyd was a man of many talents and interests. He found joy and peace in the simple pleasure of fishing, a pastime that allowed him to connect with nature and reflect on life's wonders. His love for basketball and football was infectious, often shared with friends and family through spirited games and lively discussions. Lloyd's legacy is one of laughter, kindness, and generosity. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, he had an ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His light-hearted jokes and infectious sense of humor could brighten even the gloomiest of days, and his kindness knew no boundaries. Lloyd was preceded in death by his beloved brother Rickey Williams and his dear sister, Sheila Williams. He leaves behind a family who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. His loving mother, Bernice T. Williams, survives him, along with his cherished children, Keyonna Jeffreys, Lloyd Williams Jr. and Pierre Brooks. He is also mourned by his devoted brothers, Cleveland C. Williams and Terrell C. Williams. His uncle's Leon Williams and Don Williams, as well as his aunt Sandra Cherry. His memory will also carry forward Lloyd's vibrant legacy. Lloyd O'Neal Williams lived a life full of love, laughter, and purpose. His memory will forever be a source of inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on our hearts. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his spirit continue to inspire acts of kindness and generosity in all of us.
