Lloyd Lacy

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Lacy, who departed this world peacefully on August 2, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with illness. Born on February 20, 1942, in Huntsville, Alabama, Lloyd was a beacon of light and warmth to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Lloyd was the cherished son of Estelle Jones and the beloved brother of his late siblings, Arie, Dorothy, John Lacy, and Howard Lacy. He is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Gloria Lacy, who was his rock and partner in a life filled with love and laughter since their marriage in 2000. Lloyd leaves behind his children, Todd Lacy of Florida and Krystal Lacy of Houston, Texas, along with his bonus son, James Adrian Singleton. He was the proud grandfather of five and great-grandfather of two, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and humor. Lloyd's family also extends to many nieces, nephews, and numerous close friends whose lives he touched deeply. A man of remarkable talent and dedication, Lloyd graduated from high school in East St. Louis, Illinois, before serving his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. His arrival at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1965 marked the beginning of an illustrious basketball career. As a key player, Lloyd helped lead his team, the Bulldogs, to historic victories, earning them the first-ever No. 1 ranking in the NAIA National poll and a place in the NAIA tournament. His prowess on the court was matched only by his passion for the game. Lloyd transitioned his discipline and leadership from sports to a successful career in the oil and gas industry. He worked for Conoco Oil Company for 17 years before founding Quantum Energy Resources, Inc. in 1989, where he applied his expertise to the field with the same dedication he showed on the basketball court. Beyond his professional achievements, Lloyd was a man of deep faith and service. A member of the Fort Bend Church for 15 years, he found joy in serving on the Parking Lot Ministry, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. His quick wit and warmth left a lasting impression on all who met him, transforming ordinary moments into cherished memories. Lloyd was an avid reader and traveler, with a thirst for knowledge and new experiences. His kindness and generosity were boundless, and he had an exceptional gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His laughter and humor will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. A service to celebrate Lloyd's remarkable life will be held on August 28, 2026, at 11:02 a.m. at The Fort Bend Church, located at 1900 Eldridge Rd., Sugar Land, TX 77478. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Lloyd's memory.
