In Loving Memory

Lloyd Duane Allen
August 24, 1946 — October 23, 2026
Lloyd Duane Allen, “Duane”, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on October 23, 2026, at his home, surrounded by love. Born on August 24, 1946, in the serene town of Prairie City, Oregon, Lloyd was the beloved son of Harold Allen and June Jinks. His life was a tapestry of love, service, and joy, deeply impacting those fortunate enough to have shared in his journey.
Duane’s early years were marked by resilience and determination. He attended high school in Nyssa, Oregon, but life's circumstances required him to begin working at just 14 to support himself. Despite these challenges, Duane’s unwavering commitment to education saw him earn his GED, and later, a Master's degree in Public Administration from Brigham Young University.
In 1966, Duane answered the call of duty, serving honorably in the United States Marines at Camp Pendleton from 1966 to 1968. His time in the military instilled in him a deep sense of discipline and camaraderie that would define much of his life's work.
Duane dedicated his career to uplifting others, focusing on aiding individuals with disabilities in securing vital job training and community placement. As the Director of Operations for a prominent non-profit organization, he spent over two decades making a tangible difference in the lives of many, embodying compassion and leadership.
In his personal life, Duane was blessed with a loving family. He shared 36 beautiful years of marriage with his first wife, Anita Fay Payne, after marrying on April 22, 1962, until her passing in 1999. Together, they welcomed two daughters, Anne Semon of Myrtle Creek and Sandi (Joey) Zamora of Katy, Texas, who, along with their families, brought immense joy to Duane’s life. His legacy lives on through his four grandchildren, Kyra, Aaron, Alyssa, and Jacob, and his three great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values he instilled.
Duane’s heart was as vast as the great outdoors he so loved. Whether he was fishing, camping, or hunting, nature was his sanctuary. He found solace in the strum of his guitar and the timeless melody of country music from the fifties and sixties. His warmth and humor were infectious, endearing him to everyone he met. With a kind heart and a unique bond with animals, particularly horses, he embraced life with grace and gratitude.
Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and June, his beloved Anita, his sisters Janice, Lois, Darlene, and Denise, and his grandchildren Brittney and Tyler, Duane’s reunion with them in the afterlife is a comfort to those he leaves behind.
