February 5, 1950 — May 26, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Lloyd Alfred Bartlett, who departed this world on May 26, 2026, at the age of 76. Lloyd was born on February 5, 1950, in Williamsburg, Virginia, to the late Junious P. Bartlett Sr. and Mary Amelia (Curry) Bartlett. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, faith, and quiet strength.
Lloyd's journey began in the quaint town of Williamsburg, where he was raised with a deep sense of community and family. He graduated from Central Augusta High School in 1968, embarking on a path that would lead him to serve his country with honor. Drafted into the US Army in 1970, Lloyd served dutifully until 1972, earning the respect and admiration of his comrades.
Though his academic pursuits at USC were cut short due to health issues, Lloyd's thirst for knowledge and love for the arts never waned. He had a deep appreciation for art and music, often expressing his creative spirit through singing. His melodious voice was a source of joy to those who knew him, and his gentle demeanor was a balm to the souls he touched.
Lloyd was a man of unwavering faith and devotion. His love for Jesus Christ and the church was evident in every aspect of his life. Wherever he went, his Bible was never far from his side, serving as a symbol of the hope and guidance he found within its pages. His sweet spirit and gentle nature were a testament to his deep relationship with God, and he never raised his voice in anger, choosing instead to lead with love and understanding.
Lloyd's family was his greatest pride and joy. He was a devoted father to his surviving children, Marcy Naomi Bartlett, Yvonne Caravello, Lloyd Bartlett Jr., and Christopher Bartlett. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his 13 grandchildren, who adored their grandfather and learned invaluable life lessons from his example.
He was a beloved brother to his siblings, Frank Parrott, Gloria Marie Handford (William), and LaBarbara Harrod, who cherished their bond and shared countless memories throughout the years. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents and his beloved son, Elijah Bartlett, whom he now joins in eternal rest.
A service to celebrate Lloyd's life will be held on June 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM. As we gather to remember him, we honor a life filled with love, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to family and faith. Lloyd Alfred Bartlett will be remembered as a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to guide us in the days to come.
May he rest in peace, embraced by the love of those who went before him and the everlasting grace of the Lord.
