Liyah Uejima

December 24, 2001 — April 30, 2026

It is with profound sorrow and deep respect that we announce the passing of Liyah Uejima, who departed this life on April 30, 2026, at the tender age of 24. Her life, though tragically cut short by a car accident, was a beacon of joy and love to all who knew her. Liyah was born on December 24, 2001, in Saint Louis, Missouri, and from the very beginning, she shone brightly, bringing warmth and light to her family and friends. Liyah was the beloved daughter of Mahalaleel Uejima, who instilled in her a love for life and the importance of kindness. She was a cherished sister to Seth Uejima, with whom she shared many treasured memories and an unbreakable bond. Though her family is deeply saddened by her untimely departure, they find solace in the love and memories they shared. Liyah was preceded in death by her dear relative, Lionel Uejima, whose memory she cherished throughout her life. Their reunion in the beyond brings comfort to those she leaves behind, who know they are now together in peace. A graduate of her local high school, Liyah was known for her brilliant mind and compassionate heart. Her passion for helping others led her to volunteer extensively, and she was particularly committed to causes related to heart health, a dedication that inspires her family to continue supporting the American Heart Association in her memory. Liyah's life was a testament to her vibrant spirit and her ability to touch the lives of those around her. She had a natural talent for making people feel valued and heard, and her laughter was contagious, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her friends remember her as a source of unwavering support and a confidante who always knew how to bring a smile to their faces. As Liyah's loved ones gather to celebrate her life, they do so in the privacy of a family ceremony, honoring her wish for a quiet farewell. Though the world feels a little darker without her, her light continues to shine through the lives she touched, and her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Liyah's name to the American Heart Association, a cause she held dear. This gesture will not only honor her legacy but also continue her mission of bringing hope and healing to others. Liyah Uejima's life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and a legacy of compassion. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished by all who were blessed to know her. Rest in peace, dear Liyah, knowing you are loved beyond measure.
