In loving memory of Lisa Marie Stoke, it is with heavy hearts that we announce her passing on June 1, 2026, due to a sudden medical complication. Born on June 9, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, Lisa was a beacon of light, love, and laughter, whose presence enriched the lives of everyone she encountered.
Lisa was the cherished daughter of Johnston and Gillian Pharaoh. Her journey through life was deeply intertwined with family, and she was predeceased by her beloved brother, Mike Stoke; her daughters, Patrice and Stephanie; her son, Ricky; her granddaughters, Crystle, Alicia, and Kim; and her great-granddaughters, Taraji and Nya. Her legacy lives on through her three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will carry her spirit and memory forward.
On June 15, 1960, Lisa married the love of her life, Kenneth Smith, in New York. Together, they shared 48 wonderful years, nurturing a family and building a life defined by devotion and joy. Their love story was an inspiring testament to commitment and companionship.
A woman of many talents and boundless energy, Lisa dedicated herself to her community with unwavering enthusiasm. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church for over 40 years, where her faith and kindness touched many lives. As a longtime member of the Rotary Club, she served as president in 1995, leaving a lasting impact through her leadership and service. Her dedication extended to serving as a volunteer firefighter for 15 years and as a member of the American Legion, where she continued to contribute tirelessly to the well-being of others.
Lisa was known for her quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, a testament to her kind and generous spirit. Her laughter and love echoed through the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of joy and compassion.
A service to honor Lisa's life will be held on June 8, 2026, at 9:22 AM at the First New Hope Bible Church, located at 5400 W Mount Houston Rd, Houston, TX. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care during Lisa's final days.
As we gather to celebrate Lisa's life, we hold her memory close, cherishing the moments of happiness and love she shared with us. She will remain forever in our hearts, a guiding light and a cherished soul whose legacy will endure in the lives she touched.
