Lisa Irene Anderson
May 18, 1961 — April 21, 2026
It is with heavy hearts yet cherished memories that we announce the passing of Lisa Irene Anderson, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. Born on May 18, 1961, in Beloit, Wisconsin, Lisa peacefully left this world on April 21, 2026, in the comforting presence of her devoted husband, Leon, at their home.
Lisa was the cherished daughter of the late Myrtle and Bernard Gillespie and sister to the late Rodger and Dennis Gillespie. She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Leon Anderson, with whom she shared a beautiful and unwavering bond since their marriage on May 22, 1982. Lisa was a proud and loving mother to her daughters, Jenessa Anderson, who shares her life with Bryan Miller, and Nicole Chen, wife to Chris. Her surviving siblings, Lynda Lennon, Lavonne Benash and her husband Scott, and Wayne Gillespie with his wife Mary Alice, will forever hold her in their hearts.
A beacon of compassion and dedication, Lisa graduated from Parker High School in Janesville, WI, in 1979 and went on to earn a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing from UW-Milwaukee in 1983. Her career as a registered nurse in the labor and delivery department at Monroe Clinic Hospital spanned nearly three decades, where she touched countless lives with her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication.
Outside of her professional life, Lisa was a cherished member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where she found solace and a sense of community. Her passions were simple yet profound—time spent with family and friends, the joy of giving through shopping for others, cheering on her beloved Brewers and Packers, savoring a good cup of coffee, and the warmth of snuggling with her grandpups. She embodied selflessness, with a smile that could light up any room and a laugh that brought joy to all around her.
Though Lisa did not have grandchildren or great-grandchildren, she was surrounded by a family and community who adored her. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and selfless devotion to others, qualities that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
A service to honor Lisa's remarkable life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, located at 1708 6th Ave W, Brodhead, WI 53520. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the SSM Hospice team for their exceptional care during Lisa’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Lisa's memory to organizations that support nursing education or to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, causes close to her heart.
As we gather to celebrate Lisa’s life, we remember her as a woman whose compassion knew no bounds, whose laughter was a melody of joy, and whose love was a gift to all who knew her. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
