June 8, 1959 — March 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lisa Gayle Painter, a cherished mother, daughter, and friend. Lisa departed this world peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, after a valiant battle with lupus. She was 66 years old. Born on June 8, 1959, in the warm and welcoming community of Cameron, Texas, Lisa was the beloved daughter of Kathryn Bales and Glenn May. Her father, Glenn, predeceased her, yet his spirit remained a guiding force in her life. Lisa's mother, Kathryn Shelton, continues to carry forward the family legacy in Buckholts, Texas. Lisa was a devoted mother to her sons, Adam Zertuche of Austin, Texas, and Dylan Painter of Kyle, Texas. Her unwavering love and support for her children were the cornerstones of her life. She took great pride in their accomplishments and was always their biggest cheerleader. Professionally, Lisa was a beacon of compassion and service. Her career was a tapestry woven with threads of kindness, dedication, and a love for helping others. She was a committed volunteer with Attitudinal Healing in Austin and Travis County Victims Services, where her empathy touched countless lives. Lisa also managed Long Horn Speedway in Austin, Texas, and owned a retail shop specializing in racing memorabilia and clothing, where she shared her passion for the sport with the community. Lisa's adventurous spirit knew no bounds. She traveled extensively, making lasting friendships with people in Europe and South America, and cherished her time snow skiing and camping in the family RV. Her home was a welcoming haven for foreign students from Brazil and Germany, whom she sponsored and nurtured into lifelong friends. Lisa's life will be celebrated at a service held at the Rogers Church of Christ in Rogers, Texas. This gathering will not only be an opportunity to bid farewell but also to remember the joy, love, and laughter that she brought into our lives. In remembering Lisa Gayle Painter, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart that gave generously, and a spirit that will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
