March 24, 1950 — May 25, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lineth Ronald "Ronnie" Potter, a man whose life was a testament to love, dedication, and undeniable strength. Ronnie, born on March 24, 1950, in the warm, welcoming town of Paducah, Kentucky, left this world peacefully on May 25, 2026, at Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by the love of his cherished family. Ronnie was the beloved son of Letha Ladone Shupe and the late Lineth Clay Potter. He was preceded in death by his father, his devoted stepfather Dennis Shupe, and his dear sisters, Linda Potter and Ladonna Sue Lane. These loved ones, along with countless others whose lives he touched, celebrate his joyous reunion in eternity. A pillar of strength and a beacon of kindness, Ronnie leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. His devoted wife, Brenda Potter, stood by his side for many wonderful years, sharing in life’s joys and challenges. He is survived by his caring mother, Ladone Shupe, his brother Gene Potter and wife Kacy, and his sisters Kay Whitman and husband Larry, and Diann Copeland and husband Jim. Ronnie’s legacy of love continues through his children: sons Steve Liedecker and wife Kim, Ron Potter and wife Jasmine, and daughters Tammy Keeling and husband William, Gedget Quigley and husband Tom, and Amanda Roach and husband James. His eight grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren were the light of his life and will carry forward the values and love he instilled in them. A dedicated craftsman, Ronnie’s hands built more than just homes; they built a community. As a self-employed painter, drywall hanger and finisher, and flooring expert, he took immense pride in his work, creating spaces filled with warmth and character. Beyond his professional life, Ronnie was a lifelong fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, never missing a chance to cheer them on. He found joy in bowling at Cardinal Lanes, where he was once an esteemed member of the Men's Bowling Association. Ronnie was a man with a heart as vast as the skies, known for his unwavering support of children and cancer awareness. Whether he was smoking meat for fundraisers or donating to St. Jude Hospital, his generosity knew no bounds. He believed in giving more than he received, a legacy his family vows to continue. A service to celebrate Ronnie's remarkable life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hughes Funeral Home, located on Husband Road. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed at hughesfuneralhome.com. Ronnie's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all who have offered support and condolences during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Hospital, in honor of Ronnie's unwavering commitment to helping others. As we say goodbye to Ronnie, we hold tight to the cherished memories he leaves behind. His spirit, full of love and laughter, will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Ronnie, knowing you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
