It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lindsey Young, a beacon of light and love, who departed this world on July 27, 2026, at the age of 42. Lindsey passed away peacefully at her home in Findlay, Ohio, having bravely faced a long battle with mental health.
Born on November 21, 1983, in Findlay, Ohio, Lindsey was the cherished daughter of Shelly Smith and the late Leon Smith. From an early age, Lindsey displayed a vivacious spirit and a deep compassion for others, traits that endeared her to everyone she met.
A proud graduate of Van Buren High School's class of 2002, Lindsey was known for her kindness and dedication to her studies. Her journey through life was marked by her unwavering commitment to family and friends, as well as her love for creating a home filled with warmth and laughter.
Lindsey's life was beautifully intertwined with her loving husband, Tony Young. Together, they celebrated 20 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rich in love and filled with unforgettable memories. Tony was not only her partner but her best friend, and together they shared a bond that was both inspiring and enduring.
Lindsey is survived by her devoted husband, Tony Young, her beloved mother, Shelly Smith, and her dear sisters, Leanna Sortor and Cindy Brown. She is predeceased by her father, Leon Smith, whose memory she cherished deeply.
A service to honor Lindsey's life will be held on August 1, 2026, in her hometown of Findlay, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Lindsey, celebrating the joy and love she brought into their lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Lindsey's memory to Mental Health America, an organization dedicated to supporting mental health initiatives. Contributions will help continue the important work of raising awareness and providing support for those in need.
Lindsey Young will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
