Lindon "Joyce" Jackson

Lindon Joyce, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend, peacefully passed away on August 21, 2026, following a courageous battle with pulmonary issues. Born on August 17, 1950, in Damascus, Georgia, Joyce's life was a testament to love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Joyce was the cherished daughter of J D and Lula Bell Jackson, who predeceased her, along with her brothers Oscar, Herbert, John, Connell, Donnell, and Marvin; sisters Bernice and Annie Vera; her daughter Angela Jackson; and grandson Jeromy Peterson. Despite these profound losses, Joyce's spirit remained resilient and her heart open to the joys and responsibilities of family life. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn "Boo" Jackson, her granddaughter Shakeila "Keila" Ward, and her beloved great-granddaughters, Kamya Jones and Yasmine Ward, along with six cherished great-great-grandchildren. Joyce's family extends further to include a host of treasured nieces and nephews, with a special bond shared with her niece Emily Jones. Her circle of love also encompassed numerous friends and loved ones in Apopka, as well as her dear Jackson cousins, all of whom will deeply miss her presence. A graduate of Apopka High School, Joyce pursued her passion for cosmetology and spent many rewarding years serving her clients in Apopka and the surrounding areas. Her professional career was marked by warmth and care, qualities that extended beyond her work and into all aspects of her life. Joyce was connected with The Temple of Faith, dedicating her time to serve her community and spread kindness wherever she went. Joyce's life was defined by her love for helping others, encapsulated beautifully by her guiding principle: "If I can help somebody as I travel along, then my living has not been in vain." Her greatest achievement was the love and care she provided to her family, ensuring their well-being with unwavering dedication. A memorial service to honor Joyce's life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Zanders Funeral Home Chapel, located at 232 W. Michael Gladden Blvd., Apopka, FL 32703. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice in Joyce's memory. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Florida, the staff at Zanders, the Taylor Apartments Community, The PMW store family and all friends and loved ones who visited and supported Joyce during her final journey, especially Yasmine, Trish and her niece Emily. Your kindness and compassion have been a source of comfort and strength during this difficult time. Though Lindon Joyce has left this world, her legacy of love and service continues to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who cherished her.
