In Loving Memory

Linde Petersen
October 18, 1934 — October 8, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linde Petersen, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world unexpectedly on October 8, 2026, at the Berkeley Medical Center. Born Sieglinde Blümb on October 18, 1934, in Heidelberg, Germany, she later became known to all as Linde after simplifying her name for those who struggled to pronounce it.
Linde's journey through life was marked by a rich tapestry of love, resilience, and dedication. In 1956, she met and married her husband David C. Petersen, while he was serving as Military Police in Heilbronn, Germany. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, until David's passing. Linde remained a pillar of strength and warmth for her family, embodying the values of kindness, strength, and perseverance.
Linde leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Robert (Lynn), Kimberly (Larry), Cynthia (Doug), Erik (Julie), and Leif (Shelly). Her heart and home were always open to her 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Linde had a profound love for nature and the simple joys of life. She found peace and happiness in the company of her beloved dog, Roxie, and her days were often spent nurturing her plants, losing herself in a good book, or enjoying the great outdoors on camping trips with her family.
Her gentle spirit and genuine warmth will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her. Her laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support enriched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression that will endure in the hearts of her loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Linde's generous and compassionate spirit.
A memorial service to celebrate Linde's life will be held at a later date. The family extends their sincere gratitude for the love and support they have received during this time of loss. May Linde's soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a guiding light for all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Linde Petersen welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
