Linda Sue Evans

January 24, 1947 — July 10, 2026

Linda Sue Evans, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on July 2026, at the age of 79. Surrounded by the love of her family, Linda’s courageous journey with vascular dementia and the effects of several strokes came to a gentle end. Born on January 24, 1947, Linda was the cherished daughter of WW and Vera Giles. She grew up in a loving family alongside her siblings and was predeceased by her parents, her brother Gary, and her sister Barbara. Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Ronnie Glenn Evans Sr., whom she married on July 27, 1962. Together, they celebrated nearly 64 years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Linda’s family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her children: Ronnie Jr. (Rene’), Kristi (Mike), Sheila (Robert-deceased), and Jeff. Linda’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her own children; she lovingly embraced her adopted daughters and youngest sisters, Joy (Steve) and Janie (Brad). Her family continued to grow with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Linda's heart was expansive, and she was affectionately known as "Nanny" to many who considered her a second grandmother. Linda's career was diverse and reflective of her multifaceted talents. She wore many hats throughout her lifetime, working as an apartment manager, daycare cook, and providing childcare at home, but above all, she considered herself a homemaker. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of her delicious cooking. Linda had a natural gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved, a testament to her warm, funny, and supportive nature. Linda’s hobbies were as vibrant as her personality. She delighted in cooking, shopping, and painting, and found joy in listening to music, watching movies and television, and traveling. Most importantly, she treasured every moment spent with her family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. In addition to her husband and children, Linda is survived by her sister Glenda, brothers Jerry (Kathy) and Terry (Sheila), and a wide circle of extended family and friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity. A celebration of Linda's life will be held in a private ceremony for family and close friends. Those wishing to honor her memory may do so by making a donation to a charity of their choice, in keeping with Linda's spirit of giving and kindness. Linda Sue Evans leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
