In Loving Memory

Linda Rae (Kuhn) Lorenzen
January 5, 1944 — August 17, 2026
Linda Rae (Kuhn) Lorenzen, born on January 5, 1944, in the picturesque town of La Grande, Oregon, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Linda was the cherished daughter of Merton and Vadna Kuhn, who have both predeceased her, as well as her beloved husband, Jay Lorenzen, and her dear puppy, Mocha.
A graduate of La Grande High School in 1962, Linda continued her education at Eastern Oregon College, completing her studies in 1963. That same year, she married her high school sweetheart, Jay Lorenzen, on September 1. Together, they built a loving home and raised two wonderful children, Lisa Albrecht and Jeff Lorenzen. Jay and Linda shared 30 beautiful years of marriage before Jay's untimely passing.
Linda dedicated her career to nurturing and educating young minds, working at The Dalles Middle School and Columbia Gorge Community College. Known for her exceptional organizational skills, she was fondly remembered for her role in keeping the Bells on track. After retiring in 2001, Linda devoted her time to her family, her community, and her faith, attending services at First Christian Church, Hood River Alliance Church, and Gateway Presbyterian Church over the years.
Her warmth and kindness extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and a great-grandmother to one great-grandson. Her legacy of love and compassion will undoubtedly live on in their hearts.
Linda's life will be celebrated with a service at Spooky's Pizza, located at 3320 W Sixth Street, on September 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM. It will be a time for family and friends to gather, remember, and honor the incredible woman she was.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at The Springs at Mill Creek and Providence Hospice of the Gorge for their compassionate care during Linda's final year. They also wish to thank all her wonderful friends who enriched her life with their love and companionship.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Linda's memory to FRIENDS OF THE DALLES-WASCO COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY, a cause close to her heart.
