Linda Ward Fathera, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this world on September 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at her home. Born on May 19, 1951, in Mooresville, NC, Linda was the cherished daughter of James and Daisy Ward, who predeceased her.
Linda was a beacon of warmth and kindness, known for her unwavering devotion to her family. She dedicated her life as a homemaker, creating a loving environment for her loved ones. Her doors were always open, and her heart was full of generosity and compassion.
Linda shared a profound bond with her late husband, Jimmy, and together they shaped a family filled with love and laughter. She was predeceased by her infant son, Jody, and her son, Billy, whose memories she held close to her heart. Linda is survived by her son James "Chico" and his wife Robyn, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Dalys (Bryce), Aleigh (Zack), and Logan, and her great-grandchildren, Houston, Briggs, Baylor, and Knox, who will carry forward the love and values she instilled in them. Linda's life was further enriched by her siblings, Junior, Robert , Willie, and Julie, who remained her steadfast companions throughout her journey.
Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Jackie, whose memory she cherished dearly. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Your Health Organization and McLeod Seacoast for their compassionate care during her final days.
A service to honor Linda's life will be held on September 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens, located at 65 SC-90, Little River, SC 29566. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose spirit will forever remain in their hearts.
