New Orleans, Louisiana - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Parker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on April 28, 2026. Born on a day emblematic of love, February 14, 1967, in the vibrant heart of New Orleans, Linda’s life was a testament to the warmth and affection she shared with everyone around her.
Linda was the cherished daughter of the late Lillian Parker Sanders and Leonard Lewis Sr., and she carried their legacy forward with grace and strength. Predeceased by her beloved parents, Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Steven Johnson. Their love story began as high school sweethearts and flourished into a beautiful union that spanned over 50 wonderful years. Together, they built a loving family and a life filled with joy and shared dreams.
Linda leaves behind her beloved children, James, Brittini, and Steven Christopher, who were her greatest pride and joy. She was also the doting grandmother to three precious grandchildren, whose laughter brought endless delight to her heart. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
A proud graduate of Skyline High School, Class of 1985, Linda's career was marked by dedication and hard work. She spent a decade contributing to Eckerd Drugs and dedicated 25 years to Neiman Marcus, where she was admired by colleagues for her professionalism and kindness.
Linda was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church, where her spirit of generosity and compassion shone brightly. Her commitment to her community was evident in her 13 years as a Sunday school teacher and her passionate work supporting teen mothers. Linda found immense joy in volunteering at charity events, including the NM Snowball events for children of lost veterans and the HEB/Whole Foods Thanksgiving event at Fair Park.
A true social butterfly, Linda was an excellent hostess known for her love of planning parties, concerts, happy hours, and brunches. She had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, such as reading, planting flowers, and playing card games. Her favorite Bible story was Creation, which she often reflected on as a testament to the specialness of life and the significance of birthdays. Her favorite verse, "In all things give thanks," was not only her guiding principle but also the essence of her grateful heart.
Linda's legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories and values she instilled in her loved ones will remain forever cherished.
In lieu of donations, the family invites you to honor Linda's memory by embracing her spirit of gratitude and celebration in your own lives. Her life was a beautiful journey, marked by love and devotion, and her impact will be felt for generations to come.
