Linda McBean
December 11, 1946 — October 2, 2026
Linda McBean, beloved wife, mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2026, in Farmington, Maine. Born on December 11, 1946, in Phillips, Maine, Linda lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a fiery spirit that brightened the lives of all who knew her.
Linda was the devoted wife of Gordon McBean, with whom she shared many joyful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family, raising two sons, James (Dawn) and Alec (Tiffany), who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy continues through her four treasured grandchildren: James Jr., Alec Jr., Gordon, and Desmond, who will forever remember her as the warm, witty, and caring grandmother they adored.
Professionally, Linda dedicated her career to Fosters Mill, where she was known for her steadfast work ethic and her quick wit that endeared her to colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Linda was an active member of the Church of Latter-day Saints in Farmington, Maine, where she found community and spiritual fulfillment.
Linda had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. Her love for lilacs was well-known, as was her passion for reading—a pastime that offered her endless adventure and knowledge. An avid fan of Elvis, Linda's love for his music brought her great joy, and her favorite color, purple, reflected the vibrant personality that was uniquely hers.
Her fiery personality and quick wit were matched only by her love for soap operas, which she watched faithfully, and her enjoyment of simple arts and crafts. Linda's ability to bring humor and warmth into any room left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Linda's life. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
While Linda's passing leaves a profound void, her spirit and the memories of her joyous laughter will continue to inspire and uplift her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
