It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Linda Lou Thomas, who left this world peacefully on October 25, 2026, surrounded by her cherished family at her home in Henning, Tennessee. Born on October 11, 1941, in Ripley, Tennessee, Linda was the loving daughter of the late Bill and Mattie Sue (Goodwin) Holman.
Linda was a devoted wife to her late husband, Ernest Thomas, and a nurturing mother to her surviving children, Carrie Lind Joseph and her husband Dean of Henning, TN, and Michael Thomas and his wife Pam of Zachary, LA. Her legacy extends through her seven adoring grandchildren: Adam Joseph, Justin Joseph, Andrea Dacus, Shelby Campbell, Samantha Thomas, and Trevor Thomas; and her four wonderful great-grandchildren: Keran Campbell, Jacen Joseph, Alyssa Joseph, and Michael Griffin. The family joyfully anticipates the arrival of a great-great-grandchild, Willow Rain Joseph, who will carry forward Linda's vibrant spirit.
Linda was predeceased by her sister, Billie Jo Davis, and her brother, Tommy Holman. Her life was marked by deep familial bonds, a testament to her warm heart and generous nature.
In her professional life, Linda dedicated many years to working at Walmart in retail fabric sales, but her most cherished role was that of a mother. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family as she warmly welcomed all into her home and her heart.
A woman of many talents, Linda was an accomplished seamstress, crafting beautiful garments with care and creativity. Her love for cooking was a gift she eagerly shared with family and friends, gathering everyone around her table with love and laughter. Linda had a passion for collecting rocks, each one a treasure with its own story. She was also an avid traveler, relishing the sights and sounds of new destinations, particularly enjoying the thrill of a cruise. Known for her spirited personality, Linda appreciated a lively debate, embracing every opportunity for a good argument with a twinkle in her eye.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held on October 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Halls Funeral Home, located at 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN 38040. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests a donation to a charity of your choice in Linda's memory, honoring her generous and compassionate spirit.
