In Loving Memory of Linda Loretta Cole
It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Linda Loretta Cole, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Linda departed this world peacefully on June 30, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness that will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda was born on February 7, 1944, in Achille, Oklahoma, to Herman and Edna Gray. She was a beacon of light and warmth in the lives of her parents and siblings. Although predeceased by her beloved parents and her sisters Shirley, Liz, Vivian, and brothers Darvin, Bud, Boonie and Marvin, Linda's spirit of love and unity continues to live through her family.
Linda's life was a testament to the power of unconditional love and selfless giving. She is survived by her devoted children: Tina and her husband DJ of Commerce, Naomi and her husband Barry of Sherman, and Donas and his wife Virginia of McKinney. Her legacy is further carried forward by her nine cherished grandchildren: Sheila, Michelle, Victoria, Ana, Rebecca, John, Ashley, Taylor, and Chloe, as well as her 20 great-grandchildren: Montana, Shelby, Hannah, Sophie, Wray, Danielle, Julia, Haley, Aeris, Triston, Mark, Michael, Isla, Solomon, Nixon, Oliver, Alana, Alarik, Atalie, and Addix, and her precious great-great-granddaughter, Penelope.
Linda had a fulfilling career, dedicating much of her life to helping others as a counselor at Grayson County Juvenile Alternatives. Her vocation was more than a job; it was a calling that she embraced with grace and empathy. Her work at her church, especially during Mother’s Day Out and Vacation Bible School, brought her immense joy and satisfaction, as she found great pleasure in nurturing young hearts and minds.
A proud member of the Eastern Star, Linda was a woman of deep faith and community spirit. Her hobbies spoke volumes of her creative soul—she found great joy in cooking, often singing Christian songs in her kitchen, a place where love was a primary ingredient. Linda was also a talented songwriter, crocheter, seamstress, and craftswoman, whose creations were tokens of her affection.
Linda had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. Her kitchen was not merely a place for meals but a sanctuary where family and friends gathered, sharing stories and laughter, enveloped in the warmth of her generosity. She had an innate ability to touch the lives of those around her, leaving an indelible mark of kindness and compassion.
A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on July 3, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Kemp Cemetery, located on E 7th St. in Kemp, Oklahoma. We invite all who knew her to join us in honoring her remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Linda's memory. Contributions can be made at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization that was close to her heart.
Linda Loretta Cole will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be loved beyond measure.
