In Loving Memory

Linda Jean Easter
November 20, 1955 — September 19, 2026
It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Linda Jean Easter, a beloved wife, daughter, and friend, who departed this life on September 19, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 20, 1955, in Sacramento, California, Linda's journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone she met.
Linda was the cherished daughter of the late Georgetta Norris, who predeceased her along with Otis Easter, her son Tyrone Whitner, Lucille Howard, Delzora Howard, Arthur Easter, and Otis Easter. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 35 years, Randy Jones, who she married in October 1991. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
A woman of great intellect and determination, Linda was a proud graduate of Washington Union High School and furthered her education at Fresno State University. She earned certificates in Office Assistance and Computer Programming from Clovis Adult School and Fresno Adult Schools, respectively. Her career was marked by notable service; she worked for eight years with the Country of Fresno Welfare Department and spent many more years with the Internal Revenue Crime Investigation Department. Later, Linda dedicated her time as a counselor at the Fresno County Juvenile Hall, where she made a lasting impact on many young lives.
Linda was not only a dedicated professional but also a vibrant member of her community. She engaged in community service and was an active member of the IRS Bible Study Group. Her hobbies reflected her diverse interests and talents; she loved baking, crocheting, gardening, and construction, always approaching each project with enthusiasm and creativity. Her love for reading and exploring new recipes in cookbooks was well-known and cherished by those close to her.
Linda possessed a heart as big as the sun and greeted everyone she met with a welcoming smile. Her favorite saying, "come on, the more the merrier," perfectly encapsulated her generous spirit and love for bringing people together. Known for her friendliness, she left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A memorial service to honor Linda's life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 11:30 AM at the Legacy Common Banquet Hall, located at 2255 S Plumas St, Fresno, CA 93706.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Linda's memory to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, an organization close to her heart, based in Charlotte, NC.
