Born on January 19, 1950, in Abilene, Texas, Linda was the beloved daughter of George David Gates and Dorothy Mae Gates. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Ronald Linebaugh, and her dear parents.
Linda's life was a testament to love, dedication, and joy. She was a proud graduate of Eula High School, class of 1968, and embarked on her most rewarding career as a stay-at-home mom. Her children were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent nurturing and guiding them. Linda's heart and home were always open, filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of home-cooked meals.
In her professional life, Linda found purpose and fulfillment working in retail before dedicating 20 years to the Abilene Support Living Center, where she retired, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and kindness.
Linda was united in marriage to Ronald Linebaugh on September 21, 2014, in Sweetwater, Texas. Together, they shared 12 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Their union was a testament to enduring love and companionship.
Linda's faith was an integral part of her life, and she was an active member of the Wylie Baptist Church, where she found a welcoming community and spiritual solace. Her hobbies reflected her nurturing spirit; she found great joy in tending to her garden, basking in the beauty of nature, and caring for her beloved Yorkies. Linda cherished time spent with her friends, enjoying lunches, movies, and shopping trips, but most of all, she treasured every moment with her family, playing games and creating lasting memories.
Linda leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy: her children, Chlorisa Thompson and husband Rod, Trena Shields and husband Mark, and Chad Lett. Her grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her heart, include Justin, Kalley, Jacob, Jemma, Caleb Lett, Wesley, Julie, Alastair, Arianna, Abigail, Jackson, Bryce Valdez, Matthew Valdez, Cameron, Michaela, Lacie Shields, Courtney, Austin Shields, Chelsea, Taylor, Kenna, Case Goode, Paris Cammack, Kaytlin, Daniel, Lucas Bennett, McKenzie, Grant Lett, and Alex Lett.
Linda's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, family, and faith. Her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and infectious smile will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
