In Loving Memory

Linda Dawn Haynes
June 12, 1957 — August 20, 2026
Linda Dawn Haynes, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed from this world on August 20, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on June 12, 1957, in Chicago, Linda brought warmth and joy into the lives of everyone she encountered.
Linda was the cherished daughter of Johnnie and Jimmie Haynes, both of whom have predeceased her. She is also reunited in peace with her daughter, Davitia Marie Haynes, her sister, Geraldine Johnson, and her brothers, Randle Haynes, Jimmie Lamar Haynes, Henry Johnson, Jonas Lee Haynes, and Alphonso Johnson.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her siblings, Janis Haynes, Sharion Haynes, David Haynes, and Archie Haynes. Linda's legacy continues through her children, Nicole Pugh (Tracie), Lanetta Haynes-Turner, Lavelle Haynes, Tamika Haynes, and Debra Haynes. Her nine grandchildren—Kenton Harris, Trenton Harris, Trey Harris, Dezarae Haynes, Amaya Castile, Lorenzo Castille, Zillah Haynes, Kennedy Haynes, and Xanya Coleman—and two great-grandchildren, Alivia Riley and Lennox Haynes, will forever hold her spirit close to their hearts. Linda also leaves behind her devoted longtime partner, Rashid Griffin.
Though she faced many personal battles, including a courageous fight with liver disease, Linda never lost her radiant smile and infectious laughter. Her resilience and determination were evident when she proudly earned her GED later in life, an accomplishment that brought her immense pride. Linda's ability to find joy amidst adversity was a testament to her strength and character.
The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Linda's life at a service on September 12, 2026, at 3:00 PM, held at Seals Funeral Home, 8354 S. Marquette. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Linda's memory.
As we say goodbye to Linda, we take comfort in knowing she is now free from pain and has found lasting peace. Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, and life will never be the same without her. Linda's memory will live on through the laughter and love she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
