Linda Carol Lane, a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on August 24, 2026, at an assisted living facility in Stephenville, Texas. Born in Granbury, Texas, on December 8, 1946, Linda was the beloved daughter of Robert Steven Mars and Lethe Ometa Mars.
Linda spent her formative years in Granbury, where she graduated from Granbury High School in 1965. That same year, on September 18, Linda married the love of her life, Frank Lane, embarking on a journey that would see them building a life filled with love and devotion.
A dedicated homemaker, Linda poured her heart into creating a warm and inviting home for her family. Her talents extended to the garden, where she found immense joy and tranquility, cultivating beauty and life around her. Linda was also an avid crocheter, crafting lovingly made pieces that brought comfort and warmth to those she cared for.
Linda's life was enriched by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted children, Tracey Johnson, Wade Lane, and Colin Lane. She adored her six grandchildren: Chris Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Stephen Johnson, Mariah Lane, Brendon Lane, and Adam Lane, along with one precious great-grandchild, who brought her endless joy and laughter.
Linda was predeceased by her husband, Frank Lane, with whom she shared many happy years. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Ometa Britt, Janie Lane, and Nancy Campbell, as well as her brothers Clarence Marrs and Booby Marrs. Linda leaves behind her sister, Martha Lockhart, who shared in her life’s journey with love and support.
A service to honor Linda's beautiful life will be held on August 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Wileys. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and to celebrate the legacy of love and kindness Linda leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Linda's generous spirit and compassion for others.
Linda Carol Lane will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
