Linda Alford, born on January 16, 1956, in Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026. She was the cherished daughter of Celeste Bates and Walter Lomax. While her journey on this earth has concluded, her spirit and love continue to grace the lives of those she touched.
Linda was predeceased by her dear siblings, Walter Lomax Jr., Roy Lomax, Laverne Hazelwood, and Raymond Lomax. She is survived by her devoted husband, William Alford Sr., with whom she shared a beautiful 40-year marriage. Linda and Billy met and fell in love in Boston, where they began their family before relocating to Waltham, making it their home and raising their beloved children, LaRae and Bj Alford. Her legacy lives on through them and her treasured grandson, Brandon Elliott.
Linda’s professional life was marked by her dedication to helping others. She took great pride in her career in healthcare, where she was esteemed as an expert in phlebotomy. In the later years of her career, she found joy and companionship in her management roles at various Costco food service establishments, forming friendships that she cherished deeply.
A woman of many passions, Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in spoiling her grandson and shared countless trips to the casino with her sister. Her home was always filled with laughter and music, as she loved dancing and singing with her large, beloved family. Linda was known for her quick wit and contagious laugh, always ready with a clever comeback to the jokes of her jolly husband and sarcastic brothers. Her kindness, pure heart, and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone she met, making them feel welcomed and deeply cared for.
Linda is also survived by her loving siblings, Edward Lomax Sr. and Leonard Lomax Sr., who will forever miss her radiant presence. Though her life was filled with love and laughter, it was her ability to make everyone around her feel special that remains her most enduring legacy.
Linda Alford's legacy is one of love, laughter, and generosity. Her bright spirit and warm heart will continue to inspire and uplift those who had the honor of knowing her. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have been part of her life.
