Linda Jean Johnson

April 22, 1950 — October 25, 2026

Linda, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on October 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 22, 1950, in Cloquet, Minnesota, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Donald and Jacqueline Emblom. Linda's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the joy of family. Predeceased by her parents, her son Dustin, siblings Jerry and Debbie, and her parents-in-law Robert and Irene Johnson and Jake Stanley. Linda leaves behind a legacy of warmth and laughter. She is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Robert Johnson II, who stood by her side as they navigated life together, blending their families and creating a world of love and support. Her siblings Sharon (Bubba) Ross, Denise Byzewski and sister in law Tena (Steve) Strine. They were blessed with six children: David (Pam) Marsh, Deanne (Todd) Petersen, Jill (Scott) Rudd, Jennifer (Larry) Kendrick, Shila Bali, and Somer Corbesia. Linda also delighted in her 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and cherished deeply along with many nieces & nephews. A proud graduate of Spooner High School, Linda's creativity and resourcefulness were legendary. She possessed a unique ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, often armed with just a hot glue gun, can of spray paint, and a staple gun. Her family fondly recalls her knack for repurposing plastic utensils and her unmatched talent for decorating. Linda and Robert shared many beautiful years at their cabin on Lake Edward in Merrifield, creating countless memories with family and friends. In 1994, they built their dream home in Farmington, where Linda nurtured her gardens and hosted vibrant family gatherings. Their love for adventure took them abroad, and upon their return, they found joy in simpler pleasures at their camper, surrounded by friends and family. Family was the cornerstone of Linda's life, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. Her laughter was infectious, and her kind spirit drew people to her naturally. Linda's idea of a perfect meal often involved takeout from Texas Roadhouse. Linda always accepted everyone as family. This past September Linda decided she wanted to host a celebration of living which took place up in Northern Wisconsin. She was able to laugh, dance and enjoy quality time with family and friends. It was very important to her to cerebrate the gift of life while still living. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff and nurses at Minnesota Oncology, Northfield Radiation, Dr. McGuire, and Superior Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Linda's battle with cancer. A celebration of Linda's life will be held on October 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Long Branch, located at 309 3rd Street, Farmington, MN 55024. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Linda's memory. Linda's spirit will forever be remembered in the smiles of her family and friends, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
