Lilly Ann Sedlak

Lilly Ann Sedlak, cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on February 5, 1931, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, Lilly was the beloved daughter of Earl Bertie and Rose Ellen Blackburn. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William Joseph Sedlak, her parents, and her four brothers and two sisters. Lilly's life was one of love, devotion, and tireless dedication to her family and community. She married the love of her life, William Sedlak, on March 12, 1949, and together they built a warm and welcoming home, blessed with two children, Barbara A. Sedlak and William D. Sedlak. Lilly's legacy of love and kindness extends through her family, including her two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. As a homemaker, Lilly created a nurturing and loving environment for her family. She had a special talent for making anyone feel welcome, a gift that was deeply appreciated by all who knew her. Her forgiving nature and ability to offer wise counsel at just the right moment were treasured qualities that left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Lilly found great joy in the outdoors, where she delighted in gardening and crafting. She and her husband shared countless hours working side by side, tending to their garden and enjoying the simple pleasures of life together. Her commitment to her faith was evident through her active involvement as a charter member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene, where she formed lifelong friendships and contributed to a community she held dear. A service to honor and celebrate Lilly's beautiful life will be held at the Southwest Church of the Nazarene, located at 10808 Q Street, Omaha, Nebraska. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Fountain View Senior Living for their compassionate care and support during Lilly's final years. In remembrance of Lilly, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to a charity of your choice in her name.
