Lillian “Charlene” Teal

Lillian "Charlene" Teal was called home by her Heavenly Father to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 24, 2024 at the age of 82. She was born the day after Christmas 1941 to John Carl McWhorter, Sr. and Lillian “Audrey” (Hamrick) McWhorter. Charlene graduated from Cleveland High School in 1960. She was the class Salutatorian and a Varsity Cheerleader. On September 9, 1961 she married her high school sweetheart Kenneth Teal. They were blessed with two daughters, Carlene and Sharon. While her daughters were young, Charlene was a homemaker and then later worked in banking. She was a member of Rosa Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She was an avid gardener and took great pride in her gardens and yard full of plants and flowers. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carolyn, her youngest daughter Sharon, and her beloved husband Kenneth. She is survived by her daughter Carlene (Frank) Williamson and her brother John Carl McWhorter, Jr. Charlene was loved and cherished by her grandchildren Rachel, John, Paul, and Laura Williamson. She will be greatly missed by many family members and friends. A graveside service was held on a beautiful Saturday morning, October 5, 2024 at Mt. Joy Cemetery with the Reverend Jerry Gargus officiating.
