Lila C. Lauderdale
April 4, 1932 — April 22, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Lila C. Lauderdale, who left this world peacefully on April 22, 2026, at the age of 94. Lila was born on April 4, 1932, in the vibrant and sun-drenched land of Nicaragua to her cherished parents, Moises and Adela LaFranc.
Throughout her journey, Lila displayed a remarkable strength and warmth that touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her early years in Nicaragua were filled with the love and guidance of her parents, traits she carried with her throughout her life. Lila's journey led her to Kansas, where she met and married the love of her life, Richard Lauderdale. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising their family amid the bustling streets of South San Francisco, CA. Their commitment to each other was evident not only in their 22 years spent there but also in the retirement home they lovingly built in Willits, CA, where they enjoyed their golden years together from 1986 onwards.
Lila was predeceased by her devoted husband Richard; her beloved son Rick Lauderdale; her caring parents Moises and Adela LaFranc; and her dear sisters, Adela0’ DeFletes and Vilma Pigg. Despite these profound losses, she remained the heart of her family, inspiring and nurturing those around her with her unwavering spirit.
Lila is survived by her sons, Jim Lauderdale, Tom (Deb) Lauderdale, and Terry Lauderdale, who carry forward her legacy of love and resilience. Her granddaughters, Chantel (Robert) Schlager and Megan (Ryan) Moore, were her pride and joy, and she treasured the times spent with them, imparting her wisdom and joy for life.
A woman of many talents and interests, Lila had a deep love for gardening, finding solace and beauty in the simplicity of nature. Her sewing skills were unparalleled, creating pieces that were not only practical but also filled with warmth and love. Above all, Lila cherished the moments spent with her family and friends, always opening her home and heart to those she loved.
A service to honor and celebrate Lila's life will be held on May 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Anker-Lucier Mortuary, located at 95 West Commercial St., Willits, CA. As we gather to remember her, we are reminded of her generosity, kindness, and the lasting impact of her beautiful spirit.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Xxxxxx Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Lila's final days.
Lila C. Lauderdale's legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She taught us the importance of family and the power of enduring love. As we say goodbye, we celebrate her life, knowing that her spirit will continue to guide us in the days to come.
