Levant Purdy
February 9, 1947 — September 12, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Levant Purdy, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who departed this life peacefully on Saturday, September 12th. Levant was born on February 9, 1947, in Denver, Colorado, to Gene and Mildred Purdy. He bravely battled type 1 diabetes throughout his life with grace and resilience.
Levant was a devoted family man and is survived by his cherished wife of 51 years, Alice. Together, they built a beautiful family, blessed with three children: Brianne (married to Mike Power), Kyle (married to Lauren), and Tiffany Zablocki (married to Andrew). His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Mackenzie, Kylee, Lucas, Owen, and Blayke, who brought immense joy to his life.
Levant was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, William and Marjorie; his in-laws, Elmer & Cecilia Jensen, Karen Eichmeier, Elizabeth & Kenneth Grenzer, Charles Jensen; and his nephew, Aaron Thiel.
Levant's journey of education and career began with his graduation from Bosa Grande High School in 1965, followed by earning a Bachelor's degree in History from Long Beach State University in 1969. He dedicated 25 years of his professional life as a field representative for mortgage banks, where his diligence and expertise were highly regarded. Later, he found joy in working at SeaWorld San Diego, where he delighted in serving beer samples and contributing to park services.
A man of many interests, Levant was an avid traveler, exploring the wonders of Europe, Africa, India, and beyond. His love for plants, especially houseplants, was a testament to his nurturing spirit, filling his home with greenery and life.
A memorial service to honor Levant's life will be held on October 15, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Westminster Memorial Park, located on Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Levant's memory to the American Diabetes Association, an organization dedicated to supporting those living with diabetes.
