It is with profound sadness and heartfelt appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Letha Earlene White, who left this world peacefully on June 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 3, 1958, in the vibrant city of Berkeley, California, Letha's journey through life was marked by resilience, love, and an unwavering spirit. Letha was the beloved daughter of Pete and Earnestine White. She is reunited in eternity with her dear siblings, Randy White, Ella Mae White, and oldest son Jabbar Jackson, who preceded her in death. Letha's legacy is lovingly carried forward by her cherished children: Melvin Roy Ratcliff Jr., Latoya Ratcliff, Christopher White, Lemule Hardaway, Sonya Hardaway, Steven Harriel, and Aletha Harriel. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, to whom she was both a guiding light and a source of endless joy. In 1983, Letha married Anthony Harriel, sharing ten memorable years together and building a foundation of love and strength that would anchor her family for years to come. Letha's educational journey was one of perseverance and pride. She attended Havenscourt in Oakland, California, and though she did not initially complete high school, she later returned to earn her diploma—a testament to her determination and never-give-up attitude. Her professional life was as diverse as it was meaningful. After moving to Fresno, California, in 1988, Letha worked diligently at the IRS and the United States Post Office. She also took time away from her career to dedicate herself wholly to the care of her eight children and many grandchildren, embodying the essence of a devoted and selfless matriarch. Letha found true joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially when singing and dancing with her grandchildren during spirited karaoke sessions. Her warmth and vibrant energy could transform any room into a concert hall, creating memories that her family will cherish forever. Known for her radiant smile and generous heart, Letha's presence was a gift to all who knew her. She was the kind of person who would offer the clothes off her back and a warm meal to anyone in need, embodying the true spirit of compassion and kindness. In honor of Letha's giving nature and the love she spread throughout her life, the family she really loved and adore Letha Earlene White was a beacon of love and an embodiment of strength. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by her remarkable life.
