It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Leta Jan Snider on June 20, 2026, at the age of 84. Leta was surrounded by her loving family in her Waurika, Oklahoma home, as she transitioned from this life to the next. Born on December 24, 1941, in Waurika, Oklahoma, Leta was a cherished Christmas Eve gift to her parents, Harry Franklin and Lela Lemme. Throughout her life, she carried the warmth and joy of her birth season, spreading kindness and love to everyone she encountered. She was predeceased by her beloved parents and sisters, but their legacy of love and family devotion continues through her. On May 23, 1959, in Sugden, Oklahoma, Leta began a beautiful journey with the love of her life, Larry Lee Snider. Together, they built a life full of cherished memories, unwavering commitment, and profound love that spanned over six decades. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Kenny and Vicky Snider of Edmond, Ricky Snider of Waurika, Roy and Karen Snider of Waurika, and Lena Bennett of Lawton. Leta's family was the cornerstone of her existence, and her profound love extended to her ten grandchildren, including Robbie and Brandie Snider of Del City, Zack and Katie Snider of Moore, Josh and Kiersten Snider of Edmond, and many others. Her legacy is further carried on through her twelve great-grandchildren, who will continue to feel the warmth of her love in their hearts. A dedicated educator, Leta devoted her life to shaping young minds as a schoolteacher. Her passion for education and her commitment to her students was unparalleled. She was more than an educator; she was a mentor, a guide, and a beacon of hope for many. Leta's compassion extended beyond her professional life into her community. As a member of the Cross Brand Cowboy Church, she found joy in helping others and spreading her faith. Her warm smile and generous spirit were a testament to her profound love for her family and community. Leta will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, her selfless service to others, and her enduring faith. Her life was a testament to the power of love, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. A celebration of Leta's life will be held on June 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Waurika, Oklahoma. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Leta are invited to join in honoring her life, sharing memories, and celebrating the remarkable woman she was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Leta's memory to a charity of choice, continuing her legacy of helping others. May we all carry forward her spirit of compassion, love, and kindness in our own lives.
