Leslie spent her early years in the vibrant community of Schenectady, where she cultivated a profound love for helping others. This passion guided her to a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse, specializing in the cardiac catheterization lab at the VA. Her dedication and empathy touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside her. Leslie found joy and companionship in her marriage to Jeffry S. Bird, with whom she shared a life filled with love and laughter in Lutz, FL, after moving from Adel, IA. Together they built a family that was the center of Leslie's world. She was the devoted mother of Christy (Julie) Wiseman, whose love and gratitude for her mother's guidance was boundless. Leslie's legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Avaleigh and Declan Wiseman, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. Leslie's warmth and kindness extended beyond her immediate family to her sisters, Alison (Mike) Crannell and Edith (Mark) Hantsbarger, with whom she shared cherished memories and an unbreakable bond. Her life was further enriched by her numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. In remembrance of Leslie's remarkable life, the family will hold a memorial service at a later date to celebrate her memory and the beautiful impact she had on those around her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests making donations to a charity of your choice in Leslie's honor, reflecting her lifelong commitment to caring for others.
