It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Leslie Howard McQueen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on May 3rd, 2026. Leslie's journey began on October 6th, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he was born to Lenny and Gloria McQueen. Leslie's life was a testament to love, service, and adventure. He graduated from George Washington High School in Indianapolis and soon dedicated himself to serving his country. Leslie's military career was marked by bravery and commitment, first with the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and later with the United States Air Force. His time stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany was a defining period of his life, and upon his retirement, he and his devoted wife, Cindy, decided to make Germany their home. Leslie and Cindy's love story began on June 13, 1971, and spanned over five decades, celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2021. Their marriage was a source of strength and joy, blessed with three wonderful children: Cristina Coulson, David McQueen, and Jennifer McQueen. Leslie's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Michaelah, Micah, and Liam, who brought boundless joy to his life. A man of deep faith, Leslie was an active member of the Salvation Army church in Lakeland, where he found spiritual fulfillment and community, often joining his daughter, Cristina, in worship. His faith and dedication to others shone brightly in all aspects of his life. Leslie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid fisherman, he relished the tranquil moments by the water, where he could reflect and connect with nature. His incredible work ethic was evident as he continued moving furniture into his 70s, forming lifelong friendships and creating cherished memories through years of camaraderie and laughter. Leslie's adventurous spirit was also evident in his love for Walt Disney World and other Florida theme parks, where he delighted in the magic and wonder shared with family and friends. Leslie is predeceased by his parents, Lenny and Gloria, and his brothers, Al and Donny. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy, their children, and grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. As we celebrate Leslie's remarkable life, we remember him as a man who touched the hearts of all who knew him. His generous spirit and unwavering love will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have been part of his journey. Though Leslie's passing leaves a profound void, his memory remains a source of comfort and inspiration. A private funeral service will be held to honor Leslie's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army in Leslie's memory, a tribute to a life lived with purpose, faith, and love. May Leslie Howard McQueen rest in eternal peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and that his impact will be felt for generations to come.
