Leslie Eliott
December 6, 1954 — May 9, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Leslie Eliott, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who departed this world on May 9, 2026, at the age of 71. Leslie was born on December 6, 1954, in Devine, Texas, where she began and ended her journey surrounded by the familiar comfort of her childhood home. After a courageous and prolonged battle with dementia and Parkinson's, she has found peace, leaving behind a legacy of love that will be treasured by all who knew her.
Leslie was the cherished daughter of the late Truitt and Melba Melott, who predeceased her, and is survived by her devoted son, John Brumage. She was the proud grandmother to Hannah Brumage, Hadyn Brumage, and Hillary Jones, and a doting great-grandmother to Payten Edwards, Tegan Cochran, and Easton Wilkins. Her family was the centerpiece of her life, and she poured her boundless love and energy into nurturing and supporting them.
In 1973, Leslie married Jesse Brumage, with whom she shared several years of her life before finding love once again with Kenneth Eliott. She graduated from Devine High School in the same year she first wed, and went on to have a fulfilling career at CitiBank, where she dedicated over 20 years of service. Her colleagues remember her not only for her professionalism but also for her kindness and sincerity, qualities that were the hallmark of Leslie's character.
Leslie was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Devine, where her faith was a guiding light and a source of strength. She was known for her warm heart and selfless spirit, always willing to lend a hand or offer support to those in need. Her generosity and compassion left an indelible mark on her community.
A woman of many talents, Leslie was an avid baker, crafter, and gardener. Her home was often filled with the comforting aroma of freshly baked goods, and her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit. She found joy in creating and sharing, whether it was through a beautifully crafted gift or a lovingly tended plant.
A celebration of Leslie's life will be held at 10:00 AM on June 4, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Devine. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to gather and honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Research Foundation at https://parkinsonhope.org, to support ongoing research in the hopes of finding a cure for the disease she battled so bravely.
Leslie Eliott will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle spirit, and her boundless generosity. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
