LeRoy L. Carter, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on September 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 19, 1940, in Lindon, Utah, to Orval and Caroline Carter, Roy, as he was affectionately known, lived a life filled with love, service, and devotion. A proud graduate of Pleasant Grove High School in 1959, Roy went on to serve his country in the National Guard for eight years, demonstrating his steadfast commitment to duty and service. His professional journey led him through various roles at Pepsi Co Birrell Bottling Company, Hercules, Mountain States Steel, and Pleasant Grove City, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. On September 30, 1960, Roy married the love of his life, Glenda Sharel Larson, in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Together, they celebrated 66 wonderful years of marriage and raised six beautiful daughters, creating a legacy of love and family that will endure through generations. Roy's life was enriched by his many interests and hobbies. He delighted in the great outdoors, spending cherished moments fishing, hunting, camping, and riding his 4-wheeler with friends. His passion for cars and his knack for fixing things earned him the affectionate family term "Roy Rigged," highlighting his resourcefulness and ingenuity. Alongside Glenda, he tended to their beautiful yard, a testament to their shared love of nature and beauty. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Roy's faith was a guiding force throughout his life. He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his devoted wife Glenda, daughters Elizabeth Bean (Dennis), Susan Newbold, Jennifer Tichenor (Mark), Stephanie Marsh, Melissa Houston (Shaun), and Natalie Simmons (Shaun). His legacy is further carried by his 21 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brothers Leonard (Pink), Gene, and Gary. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Orval and Caroline Carter, as well as his brothers Dale, Leo, Earl, Boyd, and Leland, and his sisters Melba, Joyce, and Carolyn. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. A service to honor and celebrate the life of LeRoy L. Carter will be held on September 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 455 E. 200 So, Pleasant Grove, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity of your choice, honoring Roy's spirit of generosity and kindness. Roy's life was a testament to love, family, and faith. His gentle spirit and warm smile will be remembered always, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
