Born on November 16, 1952, in San Pablo, California, Leroy lived a life full of love, skill, and quiet strength. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Leroy was a proud graduate of John Swett High School in Crockett, California. Following his education, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he honed his culinary skills as a chef aboard a naval ship. His time in the Navy was not just a career but a testament to his dedication to service and his love for his country. An avid fisherman, Leroy found peace and joy in the great outdoors. From the bustling Pier 39 in San Francisco to the serene waters of Point Pinole in San Pablo, he never missed an opportunity to cast a line and enjoy the beauty of nature. Leroy was also a man of many talents, known for his craftsmanship in furniture making and his ability to repair almost anything. His skills were matched only by his generosity, as he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed a dream. As I was walking along the beach with my Lord, across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord. After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints. This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed you the most, you would leave me." He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
