Leroy Duborko

October 10, 1941 — March 15, 2026

In loving memory of Leroy Duborko, whose life journey began on October 10, 1941, in the charming town of New Plymouth, Idaho, and peacefully concluded on March 15, 2026, after bravely battling cancer. Leroy was the beloved son of Samuel and Elizabeth Duborko, who instilled in him the values of hard work, kindness, and generosity. These traits became the hallmarks of his character, defining a life filled with compassion and a steadfast commitment to both family and community. From his early years, Leroy was a bright spirit and a diligent student. He graduated from New Plymouth High School, where he laid the foundation for a fulfilling life that would touch many. A man of the land, Leroy devoted the early years of his career to farming, cultivating not just crops but a deep connection to the earth and his Idaho roots. Later, he became a service station manager, where he was known not only for his mechanical skills but also for his warm smile and readiness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A proud member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of New Plymouth, Leroy's faith was a guiding light throughout his life. His church community witnessed his unwavering generosity and kindness, attributes that he extended to friends, family, and strangers alike. Leroy's life was a tapestry woven with simple joys and profound love. He found serenity in fishing, often taking leisurely rides on his scooter to the Marsing pond, where he would cast his line and engage in heartfelt conversations with friends. His green thumb was evident in the bountiful vegetable and flower gardens that adorned his home, each bloom and harvest a testament to his nurturing spirit. Ever the tinkerer, Leroy delighted in fixing things, transforming ordinary objects into treasures with his skillful hands. Family was the cornerstone of Leroy's life. He was predeceased by his cherished parents, Samuel and Elizabeth, and his dear sisters, Jean Hermann and May Lee. His heart carried the tender memories of his daughters, Tammy and Melissa, and his great-grandson, Jerry, whose spirits now dance among the stars. Leroy's legacy lives on through his surviving daughters, Laura Wood, Suzanne (Lee) Marchbanks, and Stephanie (Javier) Gonzalez, and his son, Martin Barrett (Lisa). He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, each a precious thread in the fabric of his family. His nieces and nephews also held a special place in his heart, as did the countless friends and community members who were touched by his life. In remembering Leroy, we celebrate a life that was richly lived and deeply loved. His kind and generous spirit, always willing to help, will forever inspire those who knew him. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that Leroy's legacy of love and kindness will continue to blossom in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. A memorial service to honor Leroy Duborko's remarkable life will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Leroy's memory, a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much to others. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
