It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lerissa Blaine, who left this world peacefully on September 4, 2026, at the age of 42. Born on April 22, 1984, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Lerissa was a vibrant soul who filled the lives of those around her with laughter and joy. Lerissa was the beloved daughter of Larry Blaine and Frances Hernandez. She was predeceased by her cherished family member, Melissa Williams, and leaves behind her loving husband, Kenneth Hamilton. Together, Lerissa and Kenneth built a beautiful family, blessed with three sons: Davonte Williams, Lewis LeFlore, and Rashaun Hamilton. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchild, who brought her immense pride and happiness. A graduate of the University of Sioux Falls, Lerissa pursued a career as a dedicated travel nurse before finding her true calling as a surgical technician. Her commitment to helping others was evident in her professional life, where she made a significant impact on her patients and colleagues alike. Lerissa had a zest for life that was truly infectious. Known for her quick wit and outgoing nature, she rarely let a day pass without sharing laughter. Her confidence was inspiring, and she embraced life’s challenges with grace and determination. In her leisure, she found joy in cooking and pouring her creativity into crafting traditional regalia for Sioux Tribe powwows, honoring her heritage with pride and passion. A memorial service to celebrate Lerissa’s life will be held on September 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Calvary Bible Church, located at 307 4th St. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Lerissa are invited to join in remembering and celebrating her remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Lerissa's honor to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and commitment to making the world a better place. Lerissa Blaine was a beacon of light in the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her laughter, kindness, and love will forever remain in our hearts.
