With great sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Leray (June) Lett Jr., a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, who left us on April 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. Born on August 5, 1972, in Dunn, North Carolina, June touched the lives of many with his infectious laughter and unwavering kindness.
He went to school in at harnett central high.
June was a man of simple pleasures and profound love, cherished by those who knew him. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Asia Nikkolē Monroe of Fayetteville, NC; his loving mother, Mary Ann Bell Lett of Fayetteville, NC; his siblings, April n Lett-Bright of Fayetteville NC Kami Hargrove of Lillington, NC, Chaseton Lett of Sanford, NC, and Angela Lett of Sanford, NC. He also leaves behind his partner, Doris Jane Monroe of SpringLake, NC, with whom he shared the joy of raising their daughter. June's life was enriched by the love of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends, especially his two best friends, Jessie Murchison and John Stewart.
June is predeceased by his father, Leray Lett Sr., his brother, Micquis Anton Lavar Lett, and his niece, Shamika Lett, who now welcome him with open arms.
Throughout his life, June was known for his quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. He had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and his kindness and generosity touched countless lives. He delighted in watching Eagles games, savoring his favorite potato skin chips with a glass of non-pulp orange juice. He often spoke of the beach, a place he found peace, and loved being surrounded by his family and friends, who were his greatest joy.
June worked diligently at various plant jobs, including Cotys and Tyson of Sanford, NC, where he was respected and admired by his colleagues for his dedication and hardworking nature.
A service to celebrate June's life will be held on May 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lillington Star FWB Church, located at 183 Bailey Way Road, Lillington, NC. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the staff of Genesis Mortuary Services and Lillington Star FWB Church, with a special thank you to Kenneth Swann for their unwavering support and compassion during this difficult time.
As we gather to honor June's life, we remember a man who brought light and laughter into every room, who loved deeply and lived fully. His memory will continue to inspire us, and his legacy of love and laughter will remain in our hearts forever.
