Leonila Quinoñez Quinbar

Leonila Quinoñez Quinbar, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully at her home on July 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 17, 1931, in the small town of Bisbee, Leonila was the cherished daughter of Fermin and Maria Quinoñez. Her life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, faith, and service, leaving a legacy that will be treasured by all who knew her. Leonila spent her early years working in the hospitality field before finding her calling as an assembler at Sherwood Medical, where she diligently worked until her retirement. However, it was in ministry that she found her true purpose and joy. Partnering with her sister Virginia, Leonila dedicated her life to singing and ministering in prisons and convalescent homes across Arizona and Mexico. She touched countless lives with her warmth, kindness, and infectious humor, spreading the joy and comfort that came from her deep faith. A proud member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God church in Tucson, Arizona, Leonila was known for her passion for singing—a gift that she shared generously with her community. Her voice was not just a talent; it was an expression of her spirit, bringing solace and inspiration to those who heard it. Leonila's life was a testament to love and devotion, values she instilled in her family. She is survived by her three sons, Ruben Lee Quinbar Jr., Richard Allen Quinbar, and Ray Anthony Quinbar, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and resilience. Her three grandchildren were the light of her life, and she adored them with all her heart. A celebration of Leonila’s remarkable life will be held on September 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God church, located at 600 N. Kolb Rd. in Tucson, Arizona. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of the joy, laughter, and love that Leonila brought into the world. In keeping with Leonila's compassionate spirit, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of choice, reflecting her lifelong commitment to service and community. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Hospice in the Desert, whose exceptional care and compassion made Leonila’s final days peaceful and filled with love.
