Leonard Jer’Christerpher Banks Jr., a cherished soul known for his boundless love and unwavering spirit, left this world on April 10, 2026, at the age of 33. Born on April 27, 1992, in Jackson, Mississippi, Leonard was a beacon of light to all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience that will forever guide his family and friends. Leonard was the cherished son of Leonard Banks Sr. and Eileen Banks, who nurtured him into the inquisitive and passionate man he became. He was the beloved husband of Katricesa Banks, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love after marrying on March 12, 2023. Their union was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Aubree S. Banks, who was the apple of Leonard's eye and the source of his greatest joy. Leonard's journey of education began at Simpson Central K-12, where he formed the foundation of his lifelong love for learning from 1997 to 2006. He continued his education at Mendenhall High School, graduating in 2010, before attending Jackson State University, where he expanded his horizons from 2010 to 2013. His academic journey was a testament to his active and inquisitive nature, always eager to debate and explore new ideas. In 2013, Leonard embarked on a professional journey with Mr. Transmission, starting as an R&R Tech and rising to become a skilled Transmission Rebuilder. His dedication to his craft and his colleagues was evident in every task he undertook, and he was known for his integrity and commitment to excellence. Away from the hustle and bustle of work, Leonard found solace in the great outdoors. The woods were his refuge, and fishing was his passion. Every chance he got, he would escape to the tranquility of nature, where he felt most at peace. His love for the natural world was a reflection of his deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Leonard's heart was as vast as his love for life. He was a lovable husband, devoted father, caring son, and cherished uncle and cousin. His family, including his siblings Shantina Hall, Alfred Johnson Jr. (Caroline), and Lydia Banks, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and close friends, were the center of his universe. He was deeply loved by his mother-in-law, Sweet W. Banks, grandmother-in-law, Mamie Wiggins, and in-laws Linda Fouche’, Anitra Banks, and Travis Banks. Though his life was tragically cut short, Leonard's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Earline Smith & Leon Bradford, his baby brother Marvin Banks, paternal grandparents Daniel & Carlena Banks, father-in-law Earl Banks, and brother-in-law Jaceson Banks Sr. A service to honor Leonard's life will be held on May 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at West Haven, located at 110 Mary Grove Church Rd. Magee, MS 39111. Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of a man who fought fiercely for what he believed in and loved with all his heart.
