With deep sorrow and hearts full of cherished memories, the family of Leon Fernandez Carrillo announces his peaceful passing on June 13, 2026, at the age of 84. Born in the beautiful town of Zacatecas, Mexico, on September 8, 1941, Leon was the beloved son of Salvador and Maria Carrillo.
Leon’s journey through life was marked by a profound dedication to his family, immense hard work, and an unwavering spirit of humor. In 1962, he embarked on a life-long love story, marrying the love of his life, Georgia, on May 12 in San Jose, California. Together, they nurtured a vibrant and loving family, raising their children—Christina, Leo Jr, Lucy, Sylvia, Gloria, and Lalo—in a home filled with laughter and warmth.
Leon’s career showcased his incredible versatility and work ethic. He began his professional journey as a seamer mechanic and went on to excel as a bottling mechanic, general contractor, and housing maintenance expert. After decades of dedicated service and innumerable friendships formed along the way, Leon retired in the early 2000s, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and skill.
While Leon’s professional achievements were significant, it was his personal qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. His humor was a gift that illuminated the lives of his family, friends, and everyone he encountered, creating a joyful legacy that will endure in the hearts of those who loved him.
Leon’s greatest pride and joy were his family. He was a devoted husband to Georgia and a loving father to his children, who were his greatest achievements. He was also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immeasurable happiness and pride. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and his legacy of love will continue to guide them in the years to come.
In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor and celebrate Leon’s life. While the gathering will be intimate, the love and memories he leaves behind are vast and will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Leon Fernandez Carrillo’s life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and family. As we say our farewells, we hold close the memories of his gentle spirit and the echo of his laughter, knowing he will forever be in our hearts.
