Leon Campbell, a beloved patriarch and dedicated worker, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on September 10, 1931, in the vibrant city of Chicago, IL, Leon lived a life filled with love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to his family.
Leon was the cherished son of the late Paul and Malinda Campbell. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Anna Chambers-Campbell.
A proud father, Leon leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in his children: sons Gregory Chambers and Leon Campbell Jr., and daughters Annis Fisher-Flowers, Mira Campbell, and the late Putrina Campbell-Gill. His memory will also be cherished by his son-in-laws James Flowers, and Theordore Gill, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends who were touched by his kindness and strength.
Leon was known for his incredible work ethic. He dedicated many years to Pathfinders Auto Parts Company, where he was admired for his reliability and commitment, never missing a single day of work. After retirement, his passion for work continued as he took up employment with a moving company, demonstrating his unwavering determination to provide for his family.
He was an avid listener and follower of influential spiritual leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rev. Ike, and regularly engaged with Operation PUSH on Saturday mornings.
