In Loving Memory

Leo Turner Sr.
January 29, 1951 — December 12, 2025
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Leo Turner Sr., who departed this world peacefully on December 12, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on January 29, 1951, in the soulful heart of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Leo's life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience.
The beloved son of the late David and Juanita Turner, Leo was shaped by his roots and the strong family values instilled in him from an early age. He grew up surrounded by his siblings, JT Turner, Alberta Jones, Mose McClinton, Daisy Davenport, James Turner, Cleo Turner, and Estella Boyd, all of whom preceded him in death. Despite the passing of these cherished family members, their memories lived on in Leo's heart, guiding him throughout his journey.
A proud graduate of O'Bannon High School and Mississippi Delta Junior College, Leo pursued a career in welding, a craft he mastered with diligence and pride. Beyond his professional life, Leo's true passions lay in the simple joys of nature and family. An avid fisherman and hunter, he found peace in the quiet moments by the water and the thrill of the hunt. His garden was a testament to his patience and care, flourishing under his attentive hand.
Leo was a man of deep faith, always eager to share the word of God with those around him. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His home was a haven of warmth and laughter, filled with the aroma of his cooking and the love of his family.
Leo's legacy lives on through his children, Leo Turner Jr., Renee Turner, Sherry Turner, Michael Turner, Ann Turner, and Temaka Turner, who he loved fiercely and unconditionally. His 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them, passing down stories and wisdom with each visit.
The family invites everyone to honor and celebrate the life of Leo Turner Sr. at a memorial service to be held on February 22, 2026, at 12:30 PM at Tabernacle MB Church. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Pastor and his wife for graciously hosting this service, allowing us to gather in remembrance of a remarkable man.
In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in the love Leo shared with us and the memories he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered, a guiding light in our hearts and an enduring example of compassion and faith. Rest in peace, Leo, knowing you have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know you.
