Leo Nemetz

April 4, 1943 — October 9, 2026

Leo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on April 4, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, Leo was the cherished son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (nee McKenna) Nemetz. Leo was a man of remarkable character, deeply loved by all who knew him. Those who were fortunate enough to spend time with him will remember his quick wit and silly jokes, which brought laughter and joy to every gathering. He had an unyielding love for children and was a devoted family man, always placing the needs of his loved ones above his own. He began his distinguished career with Marriott Corp in 1969, a journey that spanned several decades and countless professional achievements. After retiring in 2003, Leo and his beloved wife, Karin, moved to Prestonwood, where they made a home on the 12th hole of the local golf course. There, Leo indulged his passion for golfing, relishing the peaceful fairways and the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. Leo was a man of great warmth and humor, qualities that endeared him to all who crossed his path. His legacy lives on through his loving family: his wife, Karin; his children, David (Janine), Teresa (Scott), Ron (Michele), Sue (Tim), Matt (Kelly), and Alex (Lizzie). He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Leo is also survived by his siblings, Ted (Marie), Rosemary, and Theresa (Joseph); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his sister Elizabeth, his brother Michael, and his beloved dog, Holly. Leo's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, a testament to a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to a charity of your choice. Leo's family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time. His memory will forever be cherished, and his spirit will live on in the stories and hearts of those he touched. Memorial service details will be announced at a later date.
