Leo G. Presley Jr., cherished brother, devoted husband, and beloved friend, peacefully departed this world on April 17, 2026, at the age of 80, due to complications from an emergency surgery. Born on March 4, 1946, in Elk City, Oklahoma, Leo’s life was a journey marked by devotion, resilience, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone he encountered. The son of the late Leo G. Presley Sr. and Patricia Presley, Leo was raised in a household that valued strength, kindness, and integrity. He followed in the footsteps of his father, a professional football player with the Washington Redskins, and became known as "The Silent Crusader" during his distinguished college football career at Brigham Young University and Azusa Pacific University. Despite his formidable presence on the field, those who knew him best recall Leo as a gentle soul, endowed with a sweetness that endeared him to all. Leo's academic journey began at Azusa High School, where he graduated in 1964. He furthered his education at Brigham Young University before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Azusa Pacific University in 1972. His passion for learning and teaching led him briefly into the educational field, but his career path took a turn toward the retail business, where he became a highly skilled sales professional. For many years, Leo also ran his own successful income tax preparation service, earning the respect and trust of his clients. From 1968 to 1970, Leo served his country with distinction in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. He achieved the rank of Specialist Five and was honored with the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service, a testament to his dedication and exemplary service. Leo shared his life with his beloved wife of over 35 years, Lorrie Hembree. Together, they nurtured a mutual love for animals and a deep affection for children, even though they did not have any of their own. Their home was a sanctuary of warmth and kindness, a testament to their loving union. A man of varied interests, Leo was an avid fisherman with a passion for firearms and dirt bikes. He was also known for his love of poker, often finding joy and camaraderie at the poker table. Beyond his hobbies, Leo was revered as a gentleman of the highest order, a trait inherited from his esteemed father. His charm and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him, especially the women in his life, who appreciated his genuine and thoughtful nature. Leo is predeceased by his parents, Leo G. Presley Sr. and Patricia Presley, his sister Cathy Sue Presley, his brother Phillip S. Presley, and his cherished wife, Lorrie Presley. He leaves behind his brother John and sister Valerie, along with a loving extended family including cousin Charles Payne, sister-in-law Sharron Presley, and John's children Julie, David, and Nolan. His legacy continues through Julie's children Gustav and Elsa, David's daughter, and Nolan's children James and Lennon, as well as his wife Michelle. His close friends, Mike Weinkauf, Ray Sewell, and Bill Heberling, who stood by him in both joyous and challenging times, will forever cherish his memory. A special thank you is extended to his son Nolan, whose immeasurable help and support during Leo's final days brought great comfort to the family. The family also extends their deepest gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Weinkauf for their unwavering support. A celebration of Leo's life will be held on July 18, 2026, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Weinkauf, located at 2283 Del Mar Rd, Norco, CA 92860. The family invites all who knew Leo to join in honoring his remarkable life and legacy. In the words of his brother, "It is hard to imagine a world without him. We all loved him so much. I know we will all meet again someday." Leo's spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those he touched, a testament to a life lived with love, honor, and grace.
