It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lena Kinlaw, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on September 3, 2026. Born on July 18, 1985, in Whiteville, North Carolina, Lena was a bright spirit who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Lena's parents, Joann Kinlaw and Lucky Vaughn, remember her as a compassionate and vibrant soul. From a young age, Lena laughter could light up a room, and her wisdom was beyond her years. Lena was a devoted mother to her cherished son, Damien Kinlaw, whom she loved beyond measure. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a beloved sister to Teresa Kinlaw, Walter Kinlaw, O'Brian Kinlaw, and Elnor (Cedric) Bowen. Lena's heart was vast and open, especially when it came to her many nieces and nephews, including Angel, who held a particularly special place in her heart, along with Damarius, Jamir, Destiny, Nicole, Travis, Zoey, Jayden, Skylar, Zaya, Zion, Jyrell, Jaya, Jylen, Fantasia, Shayla, and Qadir. She was also a proud great-aunt to Royalty and Keyanna Kinlaw, and Urias Bowen.
