It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie and friend, Lelia Dean Johnson Brown, who left this world on July 28, 2026, at the cherished age of 90. Lelia passed peacefully in the home of her daughter in Riverdale, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family. Lelia was born on August 1, 1935, in the picturesque town of Charlottesville, Virginia. She was the cherished only daughter of George and Ethel Edloe,who predeceased her. Growing up in Charlottesville, Lelia developed a love for the community and its people, a passion she carried with her throughout her life. Lelia was a woman of grace and resilience, known for her quick wit, generous heart, and unwavering faith. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of everyone she met, and her legacy is one of love, strength, and community service. She dedicated her life to nurturing her family and serving others, embodying a spirit of selflessness that inspired all who knew her. Her life will be celebrated on August 15, 2026, with a service at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 1042 Preston Avenue, Charlottesville, Virginia. Family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by Lelia are invited to gather in tribute to the remarkable woman she was. A visitation with family will be held the evening before, Friday 14th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at Bell's Funeral Home 108 6th Street Charlottesville, VA .where memories will be shared in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association, in memory of Lelia's enduring spirit and in support of a cause close to her heart. Lelia Dean Johnson Brown will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy transcends time, leaving a lasting impact on the community she loved dearly.
