It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lee Dragoo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Lee departed this world on July 14, 2026, at the age of 85, after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on July 11, 1941, in Long Island, New York, Lee was the cherished son of Otis and Dorothy Dragoo. He was preceded in death by his parents, his devoted wife Tish Dragoo, and his dear sisters Janice Gargus and Arlene Leskowicz. Lee's enduring spirit and compassionate heart will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lee's journey in life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and his work. He graduated from Leon High School and pursued further education at Florida State University, where he laid the foundation for a successful career in the field of computers. After retiring from IBM, he continued to contribute his expertise in administration at the University of North Florida until his final retirement.
In his personal life, Lee was blessed with a love that spanned decades. He married the love of his life, Letitia VanLandingham, on December 28th in Tallahassee. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love, raising two daughters, Michelle and Stacey, who were the pride and joy of their lives. After Tish's passing, Lee found companionship and love once again, marrying Cathy McLendon on October 9, 2025, with whom he shared his remaining time.
Lee leaves behind his wife Cathy, daughters Michelle Brooks and her husband Chris, and Stacey Lewis and her husband Jim. He was the proud grandfather of Kasey, Lydia, David, and Letitia, as well as Jimmy, Jordyn, and Jadyn. His legacy also extends to his three cherished great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Lee's life will be held on July 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Village Church, located at 4229 Pacetti Rd. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring the memory of a remarkable man whose life was a testament to love and perseverance.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, they ask that donations be made in Lee's memory to Community Hospice and Palliative Care, as a tribute to his giving spirit and generous heart.
Lee Dragoo's life was a beautiful journey, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by all.
